I was born and raised in El Salvador, but I have spent half of my life living between the United States and Switzerland. Understanding how languages work has always been my passion, which is why I studied English, Spanish and French at the University of Lausanne. I started teaching in my twenties, and helping students use a new language and discover a new culture has been a joy ever since.

In my free time, I enjoy learning languages. In addition to English and French, I have studied German and Japanese, and I am currently learning Italian.

I was born and raised outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in a Hungarian family. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Music (Opera) and Italian Studies at Bucknell University in 2018 and am currently completing a Masters in Management at USI in Lugano.

My love and passion for languages stems from singing opera as well as the ability to connect and communicate with people in different parts of the world. I grew up speaking English & Hungarian, learned Italian during college, and am now learning French and German. From 2018-2019, I spent a year as a native English teacher at a high school in Legnano, Italy. It is a joy and privilege for me to help others discover speaking and learning about the English language—I look forward to joining you on your English language-learning journey!

Eleonora Brunner

English and German teacher. Legal translator.

I grew up in Losone in a bilingual context (German and Italian). After obtaining my Matura certificate in ancient languages (Latin and Ancient Greek), I moved to Zurich, where I lived for six years and graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Zurich. After returning to Ticino, I have been working for over a decade as a legal translator, a field in which law and language are closely linked. I have been teaching German and Italian as a private tutor for several years now. Thanks to my collaboration with Let' Speak, I have had the opportunity to deepen my work as a language teacher. For me, learning a new language means being able to appreciate its lexical and stylistic nuances with humility and sensitivity, while also acquiring the necessary skills to overcome cultural and human barriers. During my lessons, I focus on the individual needs and abilities of each student, who, with my help and support, can acquire and deepen the necessary tools to navigate a new linguistic environment with confidence and an open attitude, as well as communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

I love listening to classical music and occasionally practice my flute, which is a ‘treat’ for my dog, my faithful companion on regenerating walks in the forest.

Sabina Krieger

German and Italian teacher

After obtaining a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature at the IULM University in Milan and a master's degree in Business Administration, I embarked on a professional career in Germany, where I worked for many years in the corporate sector. This experience allowed me to hone my linguistic and professional skills in an international context. Later, my career path was enriched by a move to Switzerland, where I decided to further expand my education by qualifying as a trainer of adults.

For eight years, I have been involved in teaching German and Italian languages to students of all ages and backgrounds, an activity that I am deeply passionate about. This role allows me not only to transmit language knowledge, but also to come into contact with a plurality of generations, cultures and mentalities, constantly enriching my professional and personal experience.

My passion for foreign languages has also led me to dedicate myself to learning Arabic, another language that I am deepening with interest. Regular travelling abroad is one of my great passions, to explore new cultures and to continue to grow both as a teacher and as a person.

If you have decided to improve your German, or your Italian, I will be happy to accompany you on your journey.

Greta Lo Scavo

Chinese and Italian teacher

My name is Greta and I teach Chinese and Italian. I have a degree in Asian Languages, Cultures and Societies, with a specialisation in Chinese. Thanks to my studies and numerous stays in China, I have had the opportunity to get to know Chinese culture and society at first hand, an experience that enriches my approach to teaching.

In my lessons, I not only focus on grammar, but also integrate cultural aspects, idiomatic expressions and curiosity, because learning a language also means understanding its context and way of thinking. My goal is to help students communicate naturally and confidently, making language study effective, fascinating and fun.
